gamescom dev is where the games industry’s development side gathers before the show floor opens to the public, developers, studios, and industry professionals meeting for talks and workshops on production, tools, and the technical craft of making games.
We’ll be at gamescom dev, running August 23 to 25 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, just ahead of the main show. If a deadline on your team has ever slipped because of a mesh that wouldn’t optimize, a texture pipeline held together with scripts, or a teammate three time zones away waiting on a file, that’s what Abstract builds towards: fixing the 3D pipeline.
Meet us at gamescom dev 2026
We’re coming off a big month of shipping. InstaLOD now runs natively inside Maxon Cinema 4D and Nvidia Omniverse, with a new adaptive Quad Remesher that turns dense sculpts and scans into clean, production-ready quad topology automatically. InstaMAT picked up dedicated 2D painting on the same procedural engine as the rest of the toolset, plus performance improvements like faster rebaking and autosave on large projects.
RSX Engine is open to everyone in public preview now. Multiple people can be inside the same scene at once, in the browser or on desktop, watching each other’s edits land as they happen instead of waiting on someone to send over a file. Every change saves and versions to the cloud automatically, and deploying to web, desktop, or mobile is one click from inside the editor.
And Polyverse just added Project Deliveries, a new production tracking layer built directly into the asset library. Other DAMs stop at storage and versioning, so teams still run a separate project management tool alongside them, and someone has to manually keep both systems updated as work moves forward. Project Deliveries removes that gap: task status is tied to the asset’s actual state, so a review, a new version, or an approval updates the task automatically instead of relying on someone to log it elsewhere.
Coming to gamescom dev? We’d love to show you what we’ve been working on:
-
- InstaLOD – the leading solution for 3D optimization, workflow automation, and CAD to 3D conversion.
- InstaMAT – the most powerful 3D material platform, for design, texturing, and scalable asset pipelines.
- RSX Engine – the only 3D engine that helps teams build in 3D, together.
- Polyverse – comprehensive digital asset management built for teams managing and processing 2D and 3D assets at scale.

About gamescom dev 2026
gamescom dev, formerly devcom, is the developer-focused conference that precedes gamescom’s public show, organized by Koelnmesse and game (the German Games Industry Association). The program is built around talks, workshops, and networking on the practical side of making games: production, tools, funding, and technical craft, drawing developers and studios from across the industry rather than the consumer-facing crowd that floods in for the main event.
